The MALL Artist Fellowship Program
We're currently redeveloping our Fellowship Program. Check back soon for more information or join our mailing list to stay connected.
Since 2016, the Minneapolis Art Lending Library has provided artists an opportunity to share their work with our borrowers through artist fellow presentations at our quarterly lending events. Past fellows include:
- Christopher Harrison
- Teresa Audet
- Carolina Borja
- Camille Erickson
- Alyssa Bagguss and Jenni Undis
- Sarah Agaton Howes
- Taylor Champoux
- Shawna Lee and Chris LeBlanc
- Dana LeMoine
- Lula Saleh
The Minneapolis Art Lending Library is seeking artists interested in being involved with our community-based organization by participating in our Artist Fellowship Program. The fellowship coincides with our 2018 Winter, Spring, or Summer Lending Events, and consists of two parts:
1. Facilitate an artist-led program during either our Winter Lending Hours (January 19th, 2018 5pm - 8pm), Spring Lending Hours (April 27th, 2018 5pm-8pm), or Summer Lending Hours (July 26th, 2018 5pm-8pm). During this time, patrons come to browse the MALL’s collection of artwork, and we are seeking artists to expand the experience through creative programming. The focus of the program should be interacting with and engaging the MALL’s patrons through art or art making. Prior programs have included: demonstrations of ink painting techniques, hands-on screen printing, and an interactive art installation. A successful program will be one which is accessible and fun for a wide audience, and showcases both the artist’s unique practice as well as encourage creativity in the participants.
2. OPTIONAL: We encourage artists to participate also by submitting up to three images of artwork to be included in the MALL’s circulating collection. These will be considered separately from the program proposal.
The fellowship includes a $300 honorarium given to the artist on the day of the event. A budget of $100 is also available for supplies needed to carry out the program.
